Do you suffer from sensitivity, your teeth are discoloured or they look like they have been worn away? These could be signs or acid erosion.
Although certain acidic foods/ drinks can be very beneficial to your body, e.g. lemon water, high levels of acid in everyday foods and drinks can be very harmful to your teeth.
We are here to give you some tips on how to prevent acid wear so you can still enjoy those foods/ drinks you love.

Acid foods/ drinks include: 
Soft drinks including “diet” options, wine, fruit juice, citric fruits, sugar (it promotes the growth of acid-creating bacteria in your mouth which create an acidic environment), stomach acid from vomiting and reflux, gastrointestinal problems, dry mouth or low salivary flow and some medications.

Tips to prevent tooth erosion:
Save acidic foods for mealtimes (this helps to neutralize the acid by eating it with other foods), sip water alongside or after the acidic food, use a straw to prevent contact with your teeth, wait at least half an hour and before brushing your teeth, in the meantime, you can always rinse your mouth with water.
